Master of Arts in Intercultural Conflict Management programme (MA-ICM)
Berlin, Germany
The Alice Salomon Fachhochschule - University of Applied Sciences
(Berlin,
Germany) presents the international programme Master of Arts in
Intercultural Conflict Management programme (MA-ICM). It is taught in
English and designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills
necessary to mediate conflicts, advance peace and promote human
rights based social justice in a world characterised by increasing
migratory movements and consequent cultural diversity.
The MA-ICM is a hybrid learning programme combining classroom
teaching
and seminars with internet based learning. It requires a full-time
commitment from students. The standard period of study is 15 months
to be completed over three semesters. During the first two semesters
students attend two months of classes and seminars (off-line study
period) which is then followed by nine weeks of internet based
learning and assignment writing (online study period). The final
semester is dedicated to the research and writing of the MA thesis
(18 weeks).
The study programme is offered once a year, starting in October. The
closing date for
applications for entry in October 2005 is June 15 for applications
within the European Union, and May 15 for all other applications of a
given year.
