Training Course on Intercultural Conflict Management. Clash of Cultures Versus Common European Value, 28 August - 8 September 2005, EstoniaApplication deadline: 26 June 2005
The training will provide the participants with tools for intercultural learning and conflict management and put them into model conflict situations so that they will become aware of the importance of intercultural dialogue and understanding.
Target group: Project managers, Trainers, Young people, Youth leaders, Youth workers from Estonia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro
Aims & Objectives:
* to support the professional development of the participants by extending their competencies to implement multi- and intercultural projects
* to reflect on the concepts of intercultural differences and conflict transformation
* to develop co-operation and to prepare the creation of networks between participants
* to provide tools and guidelines for working in an intercultural environment
* to enable participants to develop techniques and methods to be used in upcoming projects
* to extend the participants? knowledge and understanding of the multi- and intercultural dimension of Europe
* to share experience and knowledge among participants
* to assist the participants in setting up YOUTH projects and improve their quality
Programme elements: Creation of group dynamics, Lectures, Simulations, Role plays, Workshops, Field visits
Successful applicants are asked to prepare the following:
* Essay (max. two A4 pages) of the intercultural conflict aspect of their present living environment (historical background, developments, and their perspective)
* Presentation of themselves
* Presentation of their country
* Presentation of their organisation
Costs: Board and lodging are fully covered by the programme. 70% of the travel expences will be reimbursed, provided that the cheapest means of travel is used (2nd/economy class, APEX, etc.).
