Romania 21-25 September
UNESCO Institute for education, Romanian Centre for Education and Human
Development and International Watch on Education in Prison, organise in
Romania between 21 - 25 September 2005, the international seminar The
Different Dimensions of Education in Prison.
The mains objectives of the conference consist in:
- replace different dimensions of education in prison in the context
of lifelong learning and education for all (education for prisoners and
staff)
- offer the opportunity to decision makers, practitioners, teachers,
trainers to share experiences and pedagogical material
- underline the links between different educational initiatives and
the social context
- strengthen the role of non formal education in prison
- analyse the materials used in prison from the intercultural
education perspective
The conference plans to give a complete perspective of the state of art in
Europe (and in the world) by plenary sessions, workshops on different
dimensions of education in prison; exhibitions of materials (books, video,
.).
The European report on education in prison will be distributed to all
participants (state of art).
The Seminar will also formulate recommendations for national organisations,
European Union, UNESCO and Council of Europe.
The participants will be represented by Decision makers, Trainers of
trainers, Staff and personal from penitentiaries, representatives of NGOs
activating in the field, Universities, Research Institutes from Europe and
also America, Africa, Asia.
